Halloween Fun from the Past

L-R Princess Megan, Clown Shauna, Phillie Player Erin and Conductor Jordan (1986)

Every year we had a neighborhood Halloween party in our garage. The kids loved decorating the garage and inviting all the neighborhood kids. We decorated cookies, had a Halloween craft, played games and had a costume contest. Life was good on Zambra Way!

Big Fresno Fair

This week four of my co-workers and I went to the Big Fresno Fair for the Western Fairs Association Feature Fair Tour. We left on Thursday morning on a bus with 40 other fair employees. 40 more people joined our group when we arrived in Fresno. There were people from Alaska, Canada as well as California & Arizona. We were greeted by the fair manager and our adventure began. We had a VIP tour of the fair with lots of free food and fun activities. Our first day ended with speakers and a reception in the Turf Club.

Friday started at Country Fair Cinnamon Rolls (Yum!) Then we were off to the livestock barns where we witnessed the birth of a lamb. We had a tour of the racetrack and the VIP lounge. We had VIP seats for the horse races and our whole group was invited to the winner's circle after the forth race!

It was such a fun trip and I was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful and clean this fair is. I don't think I have ever eaten this much fair food in my life and the best part was it was all free! We even had lots of food tickets left and we had a great time searching for families to give them to. It was fun to see their faces light up when we offered them the tickets for free pizza, BBQ chicken, hamburgers and garlic fries.

We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel & it was beautiful. My room overlooked the pool and cabana.

Here we are in front of the Pirate ship. It really reminded me of Disneyland with all the waterfalls and beautiful greenry. There was a tree house nearby and an old western town.
L to R Me, Cailee, Sharon, Angie, Deanna

The girls again at the racetrack before the crowd got there. They made us wear these ugly shirts. We felt like sanitation workers or convicts!
Here we are in front of a bear carving on food row.
This is for Angie & my grandsons. These guys reminded us of Handy Manny. Their names were Moe, Manny & Jack!

I am exhausted, my feet are killing me & I feel like I have gained 10 pounds, but I would do it again if I ever got the chance!

E is for: EXTRAORDINARY!!

ERIN IS SO AMAZING!

Today she ran 26.2 miles in the Baltimore Marathan. When Erin makes up her mind to do something she does not back down until she completes it. Despite not training for a month due to a muscle pull in her leg, she was still determined to run the full marathon. After 18 miles her legs locked up and became very painful but she kept going. She challenged me to run a 1/2 marathon with her next year. I guess I better start training. I walk a mile everyday, does that count? I can't imagine myself running 5 miles!!

Good job, Erin. I am so proud of you!!! Now go get yourself a massage - you deserve it!

Firsts for Coleman

Coleman is growing up so fast! He is learning & experiencing new things everyday. He is really keeping his Mommy on her toes. I can't wait to see him at the end of this month (his brothers too!). Here are a few things he has been up to......

Megan - I hope you don't mind that I stole these pictures from your twitter

Here he is first time on the swings & loving it. Apparently someone left an Oreo cookie lying around and he loved that too!! Isn't he the cutest little chunk you have ever seen?

It's in the Air!

I love fall & I am so happy that it is cooler outside. It is so nice to leave the windows open and enjoy the fresh air and not have to hear the hum of the A/C going 24/7 not to mention the cost of the electrical bill! I am so ready to wear sweatshirts, sweaters and cords and to sleep with all the covers on!! It doesn't really take much to make me happy and fall is just one of the many things I am thankful for. I just hope it lasts for awhile....

I whipped up this little wreath to hang on my front door the other day. The cost was very minimal. Some of the things I had on hand and some of the things I got from Joann's for 50% off! The ribbon is left over from Megan & Justin's wedding 7 years ago!
Enjoy this great season - I know I will.....
