All the cushions are staying on the couch, no more zoo pals cups and plates laying around, no dirty diapers, no more of Coleman's bottles, no missing puzzle pieces, the washer and dryer aren't constantly going, no more baths, no towels on the floor, the toys are all in the basket. Cars Sippy cups are gone - and the list goes on and on.... I MISS YOU SO MUCH ALREADY!!!!

LOOKING BACK....

Lately I have been doing a lot of thinking about my life - where I have been, where I am now and where I am going.... I don't want to get too deep here, but it is something I have really been thinking about. In fact, I have decided to go back to the beginning and take some pictures of the house I grew up in and the elementary, jr high, high school and college I attended - sort of a walk down memory lane. Maybe it will help jar my memory of my younger years so I can reminisce and share some of the special things in my life.

As I think about the world my grandkids are growing up it it makes me a little sad that they will never experience a lot of things I did when I was growing up in the 1950's and 60's, like riding my bike all day until it was time for dinner, playing hide and seek with all the neighborhood kids in the summer until it was dark and riding the bus downtown with my friends to go see a movie. Wow, no one would ever let their kids do that now!

Here are a few things I remember growing up:

Stingray Bike (mine was pink)

Betsy McCall

Paperdolls

I loved watching the Flintstones on TV. I was 10 when they first aired.

I got my first Barbie (and last) in 1959, the first year they came out. I was 9 years old.
